The Children's Set a Good Example Campaign
Dear Parents and Teachers,
As a teacher I struggled constantly to help students realize that the "code of conduct" in my class was not just for me. We had many talks about good behavior and why we should behave in certain ways. I wish I had The Way to Happiness book back at the beginning of my teaching. It provides a structured approach to not only classroom management, but building individuals and a community, too.
Two sections really stand out when I think of the students in the classroom. The first one is Try Not to Do Things to Others that You Would Not Like Them to Do to You. Its precepts allow students to stop and think about how they would feel before acting. The second is Try to Treat Others as You Would Want Them to Treat You. So often we tell students what NOT TO DO. This book helps them determine for themselves WHAT TO DO.
