The Set A Good Example School Competition gives young people the opportunity to work together on constructive projects based on The Way to Happiness. Since its beginning, nearly 12,000,000 youth representing more than 11,000 schools have participated. More than 30 state governors, along with directors of state drug-abuse programs and departments of education in hundreds of communities, have endorsed it. Over one hundred members of the Federal Government recognize its effectiveness.
Statewide Set A Good Example Months have been proclaimed by 30 states honoring children that have used The Way to Happiness book to help make their schools safer and earned national honor for doing so. Projects designed and run by the students themselves have helped to prevent and reduce drug abuse, crime and violence invading their school grounds. Commendations have appeared every year in the United States Congressional Record honoring the success of those students, their teachers, parents and Set A Good Example Contest sponsors.
